To Leave The Role Play

If you wish to leave the RP, or find that you no longer have time to Post, please let others know Out Of Character ahead of time, especially if your fiend plays a crucial part in ongoing or future plots. You may then pass your critters on to someone else, or give it a conclusion in the RP. Death is not the only way to close a Character. It may wander off in search of adventure or answers - perhaps even fade into the background as a ‘retired’ critter, mentioned but no longer RPed.

-IMPORTANT-

If an Rper utilizing a Series Character (such as Fessran, Thakur, etc..) leaves the Role Play - fairness dictates that the feline in question will be placed up for dibs again, for the simple fact that Rpers who have read the books will seek interaction with them.
However, upon a Role Player’s dismissal/abandonment, any Character(s) the Rper created him/herself can NOT be adopted or enacted by another Rper, unless given public permission by the former owner. During such events, please remember that despite having found a new author, the Character is still considered © its original inventor.
In certain cases of desertion, during which a crucial-plot participant vanishes from the RP circuit without explanation, his/her Character(s) roles will be omitted, or briefly/vaguely indicated by managers, so that the storyline may reach its intended conclusion. This ensures that the RP does not fall stagnant due to attendance issues. When the new plot begins, the afore mentioned characters will not take part in the RP.

1.) No Power Playing. This is the term given to RP bullies. An example of Power Play is delivering instant death or severe wounds onto another’s character, without giving its author the chance to submit their reaction. Battle is a part of critter-life and it is anticipated in the Role Play - however, tacky harassment is NOT. If a post has been deemed Power Play material, it will be ignored by the other Rpers, and the story will carry on as if the intrusion had never happened.

2.) Do not take control of another person’s Character, by making him/her act, speak, or respond in any manner. This is another, equally irritating form of Power Play that will be ignored by Rpers. The only Character you manage is your own.

3.) Please do not attempt to join the RP as a Character that is already in Play. There may be only one Fessran, Thakur, Bira, etc… Shun using the same Character names as well. Duo-titles cause confusion and arguments.

4.) Remember the Setting. The RPG is set 20-25 million years in the past. Man does not exist yet, so please do not bring humans into the Role Play. Modern creatures have yet to evolve. Please do not slide into the RP as a present day beast (extant Wolves, Hyenas, Giraffes, etc..). Because this is a cat-based RPG, Felines are given a bit of leeway - read the Profile Page for more information. If you need assistance pinpointing Miocene Critters, the following link should be of great assistance: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Miocene_mammals

5.) The RP Boards represent several different areas of the same world. They are of the same time and universe. Do not try to place your Character on every single board at the same instant, hoping for Role Play. In order to submit its presence at different boards, your Character must travel from one board (land) to the next.

6.) Keep the Role Play and your Characters feasible. Part of the attraction found in Clare’s novels happens to be the savage reality her beasts are forced to endure, due to their natural limitations. NSRP would like to preserve this impression. Please avoid entering the RP as green-maned, purple-pelted, bat-winged fiends. Try to retain feline-hues witnessed in the wild. To enhance Character flexibility, if cognizant, your critter may:

- Display purposeful symbols painted on the pelt with any natural dye (such as blood, mud, soot, etc..). These markings would be accomplished with paws or fangs. Treelings are capable of far more intricate work, as their paws are smaller than feline toes.

- Present intentional scars that create shapes or emblems significant to the bearer, delivered via claws and teeth.

- If your felid possess a Treeling, it may fashion small trinkets of décor, utilizing ferns, leaves, fathers, etc…

7.) Do not bring magic into the Role Play. While we may all enjoy the concept of a paranormal feline, this is the world of fangs and talons. If you aim to introduce a power of limited enchantment (for example, something similar to the Hunter-Tribe’s Song), you must seek approval , least others gain the incorrect notion that magic is suddenly permitted, resulting in Role Play pandemonium. Please email ns_management@hotmail.com with your request.

8.) A mating season will be declared. Your characters do not have to seek a partner. If you choose to let them, you do not need to Role Play the actual pairing. If indeed you wish to enact this part of your Character's story, any graphic content MUST be confined to email.
Characters may have multiple mates, so long as the involved parties are aware of this OOC, and consent to it.
Be aware that offspring will be expected from any couplings, unless a tragic fate befalls the pregnancy or litter. It is your duty to find Role Players for these infants, or you/your character's companion must RP them yourselves.
Births will not be sanctioned immediately after mating. Please grant some time for the babes to develope within the womb, as is natural, before bringing them into the new world.

9.) There is no resurrection. If your beast is killed or dies of natural causes, once confirmed dead by other Characters in the Role Play (ic), your critter cannot be revived.
