The Named evolved with the ability to rationalize, plan, and overcome challenges. When hunting was no longer enough, the way of the Herder was born to keep starvation and extinction at bay.
To the Named, these animals are little more than food, and the great-cats, despite their intellect, do not harbor emotional attachments to them. Nevertheless, all are aware that these creatures form the foundation of Clan survival.
The Un-Named, felines who lack Named comprehension, are ancient Clan rivals. Few are desperate enough to strike during sun-up, but when night lends its ominous embrace, they surface, drawn to forbidden meadows by the scent of prey, and the tantalizing promise of food.
War erupts, and the haunting din of death echoes to the gaping skies above. Fangs bare, claws rend. Blood drenches the earth in ribbons. Fog becomes a scarlet tinged haze. Shuddering gasps escape mangled bodies. Heartbeats fade to silence.
Both are martyrs for the same purpose...
Both will die to live.

after book 4, Ratha's Challenge.
The Named currently reside on the Coast Range,
having reolcated there to escape drought.
Role Players, especially those RPing Named felines,
are asked to avoid posting on the
Clan ground Forums, until the Named make
the journey home, as this voyage will be
part of the ongoing RP.
Our Forum Host, Freewebs, currently harbors length-restrictions on posts. Any paragraph over 1,000 letters, spaces, etc... will not load properly. To avoid lost data, it is suggested that you type your RP in a Word or Notebook document and if necessary, Copy/Paste it in segments on the Role Play boards.

Rules of Cat-Chat
The policy for utilizing Cat-Chat is fairly simple.
The guidelines are based on common sense,
and should require little explanation.
If you have questions, please post them on the forum,
or email ItM_management.
Like ItM, it is open to the public.
If users refuse to accept the rules,
Cat-Chat will be available to members only. 1.) Respect others.
2.) Monitor your language.

3.) Do not submit offensive material (example: adult/racist content).
4.) Avoid posting links leading to above mentioned domains.

Idynn really didn't know what to say or do next. He didn't seem intent on attacking her or chasing her away, but perhaps that was temporary. Her ears twitched as her thoughts raced. She had rehearsed this so many times in her head...exactly what she would say and how she would act. But all of this faded away now, leaving her grasping for words. It had been so long since she had used them...what would she even say? "I am...aware of the dangers. I have seen what the..." She searched for the word, a word she had heard only a few times, and only in whispers from her spying. "...what the creature you have tamed...can do. And I know that you may not welcome me...but I had to try. I am..." Idynn's ears lay backwards as her tail switched in annoyance. She wanted to voice her feelings, but the words weren't coming easily to her.
The golden pelted female sighed to herself, eyeing the male before her. He looked so well-fed and her own stomach growled in anger at its emptiness. But thoughts of begging for food from him didn't really cross her mind, though she knew he had plenty. Her eyes drifted, down to the shoreline for a moment, wondering what sort of food may be down there among the rocks and sand. She shook her head to clear her thoughts, and eyeing the male once again, she sat back on her haunches, her ears perking forward again. "I'm hungry...but not just for meat...I want..." Her voice trailed off. She wanted company. To talk to another intelligent being. To not be alone anymore. But how could she explain all this? Curling her plumed tail around her paws, Idynn's molten eyes gazed upon the Clan Cat with a fierce determination. "Your name...what is your name?" Realizing how demanding this sounded, she tried to soften it. "...if I may ask?"
